Uncover the life and work of two unsung heroes of Stirling’s architectural heritage.

Architects, Andrew McLuckie and Ronald Walker, had a significant impact on the townscape of Stirling. Their buildings touched the day-to-day aspects of life: work, home, worship, education and commerce.

Through their work you will discover Stirling’s taste for roller skating, historic hospitals, pubs and stylish villas.

The buildings of McLuckie and Walker are also brought to life through collaborations with two local artists: photographer Jo Cound captures their architecture as it is today in a series of impressive prints; while artist David Galletly brings his distinctive style to the architects’ work in a set of newly commissioned illustrations.

McLuckie & Walker: The Men Who Built Stirling runs from 28 April to 5 June at The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum.

The exhibition is funded by Historic Environment Scotland and was produced with assistance and archival material from Stirling Archives, The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling Local History Society and The British Newspaper Archives.
