A sparkling exhibition opens in Stirling on 9 October, courtesy of the Incorporation of goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh. It showcases the very best in Scottish contemporary silver.
The work of ten Scottish silver smiths is featured, through objects designed for ten international celebrities in the fields of film, fashion, music, theatre and literature.
Each pair has collaborated on the design for a piece of silver from which that could have ‘a drink with a close friend’. A collection of beautiful vessels, ranging from teapots to claret jugs, an Irn Bru cup and an absinthe goblet, has been created to delight and demonstrate the diversity of the technique and practice of Scotland’s top silversmiths.
