Celebrate Gypsy, Roma, Traveller Month at the Stirling Smith
Join MECOPP (Minority Ethnic Carers of People Project) at the Stirling Smith for an event celebrating Gypsy, Roma, Traveller Month.
A pop-up exhibition in the lecture theatre will include a selection from MECOPP’s Moving Minds display. There will also be a chance to see some relevant collections related to the Gypsy, Roma, Travellers who lived and worked in Stirling.
Join Rhona Ramsay on a guided tour of the town at 11:30, which will focus on a Gypsy/Traveller family from Stirling who had links with the museum.
Kathy Townsley McGuigan will be teaching children and adults alike the traditional craft of paper flower-making. Short films and music related to Gypsy/Traveller heritage and culture will also be played in the lecture theatre.
Free, open to all, drop in any time between 11am-4pm!
