Friends of The Smith Lecture: Great Scottish Painters: Mary Cameron

Mary Cameron (1865-1921) was a well-known and respected professional painter, a skilled linguist and intrepid traveller. Since her death, however, her name has been virtually forgotten. This illustrated lecture by Helen Scott, Curator of Fine Art at City Art Centre, Edinburgh, places Cameron back in the spotlight, tracing the story of her remarkable and varied career, from the elegant family portraits of her youth to the spectacular Spanish genre scenes of her maturity.
All lectures take place at the Smith, at Albert Place, Stirling, on Wednesdays at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm)
Admission is by cash at the door and includes tea or coffee and biscuits afterwards
