Friends of the Smith Lecture – Scotland’s Healing and Holy Wells by Dr Moses Jenkins

This talk will look at the history of magic and sacred wells in Scotland. The types of ritual performed at such sites and folk belief surrounding wells will be discussed and some local examples from the Stirling area will be presented.

Dr Moses Jenkins is a Senior Technical Officer with the Technical Research Team at Historic Environment Scotland. He studied history at Stirling and Glasgow Universities and completed a PhD in traditional brickwork at Dundee University.

Talk begins at 7.30pm, doors open at 7pm

Tickets at the door £5 (£4 for Friends) includes tea/coffee and biscuits
