Talks at the Smith: Great Scottish Artists: Adam Bruce Thomson

Adam Bruce Thomson (1885-1976) was one of the most quietly impactful Scottish artists of his generation. A long-serving tutor at Edinburgh College of Art, he worked across an impressive range of media, mastering printmaking techniques, drawing in pastels, and painting in oils and watercolours. Thomson exhibited widely and was well-respected, yet his artistic legacy is largely unexplored. In a welcome return, Dr Scott looks afresh at Thomson’s fascinating life and career.
